Tanto Gets It.

Tanto Gets It.

Kris Paronto or 'Tanto' is a well-known name as it should be. And if you don't know him, get to know him. He's a badass, chill dude trying to spread the good word and make an impact where he can. He's seen it all throughout his military and government contract career and still keeps the positive, kickass attitude alive and well. As a Brand Ambassador for Out of Regz, we had the privilege of learning what keeps him going and what he's learned along the way.

The Backstory.

A college career fair and one lucky recruiter is what jump-started his extensive 15+ year military and government contract career. And he picked out the right man for the job. A former Army Ranger from the 2nd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment, making his way to private security contract work for the CIA. He served domestically and internationally throughout Central America, South America, North Africa, and the Middle East. He's most notably known for his deployment to Benghazi, Libya, as part of the security team protecting the CIA Annex during the terrorist attack on September 11, 2012. His team helped save over 20 lives. You probably have heard of the movie 13 Hours, which recounts the events of that fateful night. Now, Kris resides in the state of Colorado with his wife and children. He travels the country as a motivational speaker telling the story of Benghazi while also giving firearms courses and training.

Cool, Calm and Collected.

After living through destruction and conflict, Kris is still one of the most positive guys you will meet. He is humble, down to earth. He doesn't see himself as superior or better than anyone else, although most think of him as a superhero. Not to say he hasn't faced challenges and internal struggles. Because he has, and he'll be the first one to admit it. But throughout it all, he has kept the same chill, relaxed attitude and mentality we could all benefit from. Yes, the anger was there, and at times it was overwhelming. Yet, he didn't let it consume him. Listening to him speak and tell his story, you can hear his passion for helping others and passing along any knowledge and advice. We can all learn something from Kris, whether it be a positive attitude, chill mentality, or calm demeanor.

Live in the Moment.

One of Kris' big pieces of advice: live in the moment. Learn how to turn the chapter. People often live in the past, and it's the present moment that is worth living for. His mission now is to be successful at home, to be a better person, husband, and father. He speaks around the country, sharing his experiences and telling the story of Benghazi, Libya, and turning it from a negative into a positive. He's learned to close the chapter, move forward, and can reflect on those experiences. The past will always be there. You can't change it, but you can learn from it.

14th Hour Foundation.

Kris founded the 14th Hour Foundation to ensure veterans could get the help and assistance they need. Adjusting back into civilian life is not always easy, and support is often needed. Veterans and their immediate families can apply for financial support to help with living expenses and continuing education. It provides opportunities to those who have served and sacrificed to protect and secure the homeland. Our veterans should never be left behind, and in their hour of need, they stand ready to assist.

"Many civilians do a double-take when I tell them that I wish I could deploy again. Most veterans understand." - Kris 'Tanto' Paronto.

Joining Forces.

As a veteran-owned business, we’re always looking for opportunities to partner up with fellow veterans to bring our supporters new and exciting products. We’re pumped to be joining forces with Tanto to bring the NEW Tanto’s Hair Paste to our line- up. If you’re looking for a product that’ll last throughout the day and allows for continued styling– this is for you. It gives you a lasting, reworkable hold that is quick and easy to apply. Our formula prevents clumping throughout the paste and allows for a smooth application. It’s designed to endure so you don’t have to keep applying more and more products. Breezy, warm notes of coconut with subtle scents of lavender bring you right to the beachside. Tanto approved.

Thanks to Kris for taking the time out of his busy schedule to sit down and chat with us.
